Oakley
Oakley is the token small dog that most dane owners have :)
He was my first dog that I got after I moved out of home.
He was born in Sept. 2003. He came to live with me in Dec. 03, the winter after I graduated from college.
Oakley is my little shadow, always by my side. He is a big dog in a little dog's body.

Sugar's Story
Sugar is our token rescued dog :)
About a year after Skyler and I had met, we decided to add another dog to our family. I had orignally wanted a Great Dane at the time, but because we were living in an apartment, it didn't really allow for a dog that size (although the people above me had a Mastiff...). My next choice of a "smaller" dog was a Boxer. I had researched breeders and eventually found one with a litter of pups that had a fawn female available, which was what I had wanted!
The same week that I was about to put a deposit down on her, a white boxer pup was brought into the Vet Clinic I was working at. She was very sick, with parvo. 2 of her littermates had already died. She was put on IV fluids, but the "owners" of this pup didn't want to put any money into her. After caring for her for a few days, I made the decision, and cancelled my deposit on the fawn boxer pup, and took over the care of this sad white puppy. She came home with me on weekends. with her IV still in, and she eventually fully recovered.
Sugar is now 6 years old, and although she's had her issues, she's been a wonderful dog, and will forever remain a part of our family.
